Powerfull or Powerless?

Today we were asked to answer a simple question: "When do you feel powerful?" and "When do you feel powerless?" To answer the first question I think we all need to understand the question a little bit more. What is power? Is it the feeling of triumph? Could it be when your dog won't listen to anyone else but you? Or maybe it is when we accomplish that hour and a half homework in just an hour. But, no these are simple things in your day that make you feel happy (and yes power is different from being happy)and possibly even exhilarated. Power is the feeling that you have rised above everyone else, and you got to that place a fair way. Now does anyone ever even feel that? Some people are lucky enough to be able to get to that "place" all the time, but other have more of a difficult time and feel powerless. Now I guess that once and a while we all feel happy, when we think its power. Nobody really ever has FULL power over anything. And some people may say "I DO have power over everything", Now that may be so, but did you get to it in a fair way?

Now for the second question I am sure that we are all thinking the same thing, "Of course I feel power less. Sometimes I even feel like that everyday!" We all may think that we are powerless when we really are not. All of us have power, and we can choose to use it in our own way. So when we were asked this question today all I could think about was saying "Power is a type of thing that you can make as much of it as you want, as long as you use it in the right way". What is someone who abuses power? They are the people who think that as soon as they reach that "place" of power it is theirs to keep. But this is the worst thing someone can do, in my opinion.

So yes, right about now you may be thinking to yourself, "Gosh you could of just answered the question simply like "When my brother sits on me I feel powerless and when I get an "A" on my spelling test I feel powerfull!" or something along those lines!" But NO I thought we could use some more perspective on this very complicated question, that is painted simple. So thank-you for listening to me, and I hope that you are now think about everything that I've said. Remember everything is not what it seems.....
