Darkness. I had grown up with it. In a comfortable temperature. In the darkness I had made many friends. It was my life. It was all I had known.
Hiya! My name is Slush. I am a Cherry Explosion. Some of my friends are Slush 2, Shushy and Slu. Some people think of me as just a piece of flavored ice. But I think that I am way more then that. I am me. That is the coolest things I can say.
Needless to say I live in a gas station. In a Slushy Machine. I haven't seen much of the outside world. In our machine there is a small window that everyone crowds around. I've only looked out of it once. I saw a child starring at us. I couldn't hear the words that came out of his mouth. All I could hear was the comforting hum of the machine. Before I knew it the bottom of the machine opened up and I lost my parents. As I raced towards the window I saw the opening at the bottom close. When I got to the window I saw my parents in a cup being carried away from me. I waited for them to come back, but they never did. I just stopped looking.
That was one year ago.
But this is today.
I was walking around with my friends while we were talking about how cool (no pun intended) it would be to lie on the outside. How we would get to see the outside world, and make new discoveries, when our dream came true. the bottom hole opened and we fell through the air for a second, then smacked into each other. I looked up and saw the same child that I had seen the day my parents were taken. He had his index finger to his mouth. He was deciding something. Something that I couldn't tell. I realized what he was doing we I heard the familiar sound of the slushy machine. Something heavy fell on us. I blacked out.,
I opened my eyes to see something yellow on top of us. All I could taste was Banana Bananza. I turned around to taste Cool Berry. I think I had a Cool Berry cousin. I heard a faint bell and suddenly felt warm. Too warm. But I liked it.
The sun. Ah the sun. I really liked this new life.
I heard a door slam and was hotter then ever. All of the sudden it went dark. Was I back home in the machine? The only way I knew I wasn't in the machine was because above me there was a bright light shinning down on all of the tiny Banana Bananza people.
We sat there for a long time. I don't now how long, because it felt like forever. I could taste Banana melting above. All I could hear was their screams that kept growing more and more faint. I understood what was happening. They were melting. We were in a cup holder! I pushed my self towards the wall and saw blackness. I swam up to where he banana people were melting and poked my head up to see that we were in a car! I drifted back down to my cherry friends and told them what was going on.
I heard the door slam again, and the darkness went away. I saw the Cool Berry people slowly disappearing into what looked like a backwards water slide. I suddenly had a warm feeling inside my body, and saw that my arms and legs were turning into liquid. I panicked for a second until i saw that even though I was now completely liquid, I was still alive. It wasn't painful. It was easy. Even though i couldn't hear, taste, touch or smell I could still see. the rest of my body was gone.
When I saw how close I was getting to the water slide, I started to remember what a great life I had with all of my friends. I remember how excited I was when I saw my new home. How proud I was that I had made new friends. And now, how excited I was that I got to go into the water slide. I took one big breath, and with that I was pulled into the straw.
It only lasted for a millisecond, then I was in darkness again. I was hot and steamy, and I did NOT like it at all. All I remember is hearing a funny sound and then I....
